Aug 21 2018

CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED ALBUM SWAGISM OUT NOW

Listen Here

“On their new album Swagism, the founders of Ghost-Note Robert Sput Searight and Nate Werth stretch their ensemble into all possible contortions, from CTI’s disco to D’Angelo’s funk. It’s the omnivorous diet of J Dilla come to life in big-band form.” - New York Magazine

“Swagism has not left my rotation since the project dropped on April 20 of this year. It’s a sprawling, adventurous, two-sided effort that shows just how funky the rest of the world is not.”- Okayplayer

For Immediate Release:

Multi-Grammy Award-winning artists Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth launched a powerhouse ensemble in 2015 to showcase the diverse musical landscape of Dallas, TX. That birthed the duo’s debut record, Fortified, under the moniker of Ghost-Note. This past April, Sput and Werth – who are best known for their affiliation with the jazz-fusion band, Snarky Puppy – headed back into the studio for the follow-up release, Swagism, which garnered a #1 position on the iTunes jazz charts. The current album showcases a more evolved sound, elaborating on the sonically powerful and diverse talents of each individual member of the group, and features over 20 guest musicians, including Kamasi Washington, Karl Denson, Nigel Hall, Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer, and many more.

Live performances of the unique supergroup have been scarce, until now. Ghost-Note is planning a fall tour through select North American markets this October; find a full list of dates below. Starting today, fans can purchase presale tickets via ghost-note-offical.com using the password “ghost.” Venue presale starts tomorrow, Wednesday, August 22nd at 10 AM local time, with regular on-sale happening this Friday, August 27th at 10 AM local time. For more information on specific dates and to purchase tickets, head to the band’s website.

“The band is sounding tighter than ever. We are funkin’ it up from city to city. Bring your Swag and join the party,” details Werth about the latest ensemble. For the upcoming tour, Ghost-Note will feature Dywane “MonoNeon” Thomas Jr. (bass),  Xavier Taplin (keys), Vaughn “V-Keys” Henry (keys), Peter Knudsen (guitar) and Jonathan Mones (alto sax & flute) lead by the mastermind percussion section of Werth and Sput.
