New York, NY – Singer Whitney Woerz has premiered the official video for her latest single, “Love Me Not.†The single’s lyric video, which was released this summer, debuted at No. 14 on the YouTube Top Music Videos Chart and has received a staggering 43 million views. The official video depicts a housewife in 1940s garb running stereotypical errands – worried about what the future of society may mean for her “traditional†outlook on life. In light of this, the housewife attempts to puppeteer a modern day version of herself, but her modern day incarnation breaks free from the strings of the old society – highlighting the beauty and strength in paving your own way. View the video here: https://youtu.be/RpVmYVeDmGE The song is now available to stream all digital platforms: iTunes // Spotify // Amazon
“When making the video for “Love Me Not†I wanted to play with the age old stereotype that women belong in the kitchen. By taking a 40s housewife and having her literally pull the strings of a modern woman, we made it clear that the old stereotypes are ridiculous. I think that by having the modern woman break free and do things her own way, we’ve captured the feeling of empowerment that comes with not subscribing to the way society tells women they have to be.â€
Last year, Whitney experienced viral success with her single “Idea of Her.†The official video for the song has received over 21 million views, has been in rotation on Sirius XM’s The Pulse, and charted in the top 40 on the Mediabase Published Hot AC Chart and Billboard Adult Top 40 Chart.
Whitney has quickly become a voice for her generation whose deep connection to her fans has made a profound impact as proven by her over 120 million views on YouTube. Her strength as a songwriter stems from her ability to poignantly and accurately depict a multitude of relevant teenage issues. She is a teen ambassador for Glenn Close’s non-profit organization, Bring Change 2 Mind and has made a commitment to share a portion of her profits with the organization.
